I have been reflecting on what it means to not go home for the holidays this year. As someone that has not gone home for Christmas in 5 years, I can say that I am used to the hard feelings. However, I remember how much harder it was the first time. After seeing my friends struggle everywhere, I wrote this track in the last couple weeks to express a feeling of sacrificing physical time with loved ones for the sake of the world.
There is smoke in the jungle, and we can put out this fire collectively. Keeping safe and sound will help our loved ones, the environment and hopefully eradicate the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope to record this song properly, in time with production, but as the song is poignant, I decided to release this lo fi, live demo for those to relate in this time, and also for those are willing and able to help out a good cause.
I would like to raise awareness for those who are unable to go home at all. The homeless and in particular, those sleeping in the streets of Hong Kong, are a growing population in the current pandemic situation. The housing crisis in Hong Kong was serious before the pandemic, with many of these individuals working full time jobs. Please purchase the track by paying what you can, and I will donate all the proceeds to ImpactHK, an NGO in the city that supports those in need. If you do not want to purchase on bandcamp, but would still like to download the song, please send me a personal message. I will try my best to make a donation for you and send you the track.
